Does the name Coco Rocha ring a bell? How about if I say that she’s been rated in the top five models worldwide and has appeared on the cover of every fashion magazine? How about now?

Coco Rocha was first discovered by Charles Stuart, the Founder and President of Faces West International, back in 2004. She was given the opportunity, like many of our cities’ models under the Panache Model & Talent Agency, will get next week.

The Faces West International event is taking place in beautiful Vancouver, BC from November 21-24th, 2019 at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel. This four day, potential life changing event, will be graced with the presence of 50 top modelling and talent agencies from around the globe. Needless to say our Winnipeg models are tirelessly preparing and solidifying their “A Game”, for North America’s most prestigious Model & Talent Event.

This is precisely why Panache Model & Talent Agency pulled off such an epic event in late October, at the fabulous Met venue in Winnipeg, MB. This was the 27th annual Faces West Gala Fashion Show & Fundraiser, and if you like fashion, it’s an event NOT to be missed. The event included a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and a dance to wrap up the evening. Panache introduced their 2019 Faces West Team, which was comprised of their strongest new talent that will be heading to Vancouver later this month. These models have hope of becoming the globe’s next best talent discovery and would then be given the opportunity to work internationally in larger markets all around the world.

The evening’s featured designs highlighted finely tailored suits, hand dyed pieces, feel good items in sustainable fabrics, European fur coats, lazer cut lace, flouncy tulle, sequins, floral prints and leather. An inclusive and beautiful fashion buffet, if you ask me…

I was also thrilled to see such a strong local designer presence at this show. We got to see collections from: Aldo Formal Wear, Anne Mulaire, dEdiger, Sarah Sue Design and Lennard Taylor. I love being reminded that talent already exists in our amazing city, which can lead to creation of so much more fashion bliss in the near future!

Several of Winnipeg’s finest Fashion Boutiques were also showcasing their latest collections. We saw pieces by Valencia Boutique, Mad About Style, Flaunt & EPH Apparel and Fashion Paradise.

The venue was perfect for the fashion show. The chair placement throughout the extravagant room was refreshing and out of the norm. There wasn’t a U shape to be found and the up close and personal feel with the models waltzing by our feet was nothing short of a spectacular fashion experience.

And as if that wasn’t already enough, Melanie Deniset and Kelly Boulay choreographed a show stopping group runway competition as the finale. I was blown away by the spectacle and have never seen such an amazing group show. Not to mention the New Faces Presentation choreographed by Halle Paige and Tamika Reid. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into this vision. From concept to creation, this was not an easy feat. Hats off to you ladies!
